Just want to Say Hi and tell you a bit about my self.

My name Steve, I got into Kiting in September 2008. Was down Christchurch watching the people zoom around. Looked really good fun so i did some lessons in Poole Harbor, was hooked from there, got my self a kite and board and was loving it.

I got transferred up to Blackburn with work for a year. When i did get back home here there was no wind I'm sure some upstairs was taunting me :) . So I'm feeling really rusty with not doing any kitesurfing for a year. I would say I'm still well into the beginner stage.

So if there any one out there who just started and wants to hook up or someone who could take a newbie under there wing that would be fantastic.

Would be great to meet up with some like minded people who think its great fun to put a plank of wood on there feet and get dragged around by two bits of string.

Steve

Hi Vadreen

Im in the same boat as you kind of, Hopefully me and you can get on the water in the summer. Ive been landboarding for a while now. Defo want to be on the water in the summer, will be going for lessons asap. We could learn on the water together, help eachother out en stuff, the guys here are all Sound so we will get a lot of help. :)

what kites have you got? i was a bit disturbed by you saying "being pulled around by 2 strings" was that a mistake or do you actually fly two lined kites on the water?

Where are you based? i get out kiting everyday i can because i work in the evenings, if you are near Christchurch, New Milton, Milford. we can hook up.

Defo get a landboard though as it gets Cooold in the winter!

Jack

hey Jack

I was only joking about the two bits of string and a bit of wood strapped to your feet. :o

To answer your question i have a 10m ocean rodeo Its a sound kite for beginners well made to take a lot of hard hits.

I live in Ferndown so i can get to most local kiting spots in 30 mins , Been itching to get out but there been a East wind every time i had time off work. Still getting my head around what wind is best for where. But from what i understand Poole is pants for any east blowing winds. Please correct if I'm wrong.

I'm always up for a laugh and messing around on the water. But alas i have to work in the day. So weekends are the best time for me boo.

ye your right about the easterly's at poole, it is crap, u can sometimes get away with it at avon beach, so long as its dead East or more southwards,

i work during the week too, so limited to weekends, btu the clocks go forward in a couple of weeks, so the evenings will be long enough to get a quick session in then!!!

Cool, I have never flown an LEI so you are a bit more advanced than me. I dont know what i will get but im saving atm.

Ferndown, thats cool, not too far to travel to christchurch, New Milton, Bournemouth, Poole etc. Im not sure about winds for Kitesurfing tbh, I know that a Good SE or SW is the best for general on the southcoast but there is a place in MILFORD ON SEA (keyhaven) that i see a few kitesurfers at in a Easterly, its a small lake just off of the sea, quite safe but not allowed i dont think, still they kitesurf there though.
